Thread: PC Magazine Discussions - Fid files - how do you play them or convert them

I recently acquired some .fid files. Although they play as video with sound when initially downloaded (streaming I guess), I cannot get them to play later. I have used the program "Super" to try to convert them to mpg files. Sometimes this works, sometimes I only get the audio portion, and sometimes I get nothing or an error messae. Any suggestions? It may be that the laptop is underpowered for ...

It seems that certain (porn) sites change the extension on the fly as some kind of way to stop you playing the files I suppose. Download VLC media player it plays .fid files perfectl and its free ( click the link below I have provided) as far as converting them I have absolutely no clue, I am still baffled by that one.
