my dad has the 556 swat but the rifle and hes happy with it....the swat is
gonna be heavier but the rail system is nice. look into getting the
stoplight too. itd be pretty useful for home defense.

Does anyone own either a P556 SWAT or the P556 Pistol? Really thinking about getting one, but I would just like to hear what someone has to say that has owned one.

I looked hard at buying a pistol..and still might...to register as a SBR. Other than doing that I'd buy the rifle. Guy in my carbine class had one...Pat Rogers said it was the first that ever made it through without breaking down. For a piston based gun, I've heard that in other places. Guy I know here has one that starts malfunctioning if you shoot about 1K rounds and don't clean it.
