Thread: Overwhelmed... anyone else?

Started 1 month, 2 weeks ago by Jem
Anyone want to commiserate with me? In the next 48 hours, I need to: -hunt down moving boxes -pack our entire condo-movers come at 9am Wednesday morning... -make three trips over to the new place, bring Sprout books by hand so they don't get mixed up in the move -send about 12 Sprout orders out (that means finding all the merchandise in packed boxes in three different locations)...

Jem--I'll commiserate with you. I have a horribly long to-do list, but can't tackle any of it as I'm still getting over the flu. I have a stack of papers to grade, no real specific lessons plans for the rest of the week, and Grandparent's Day to plan for (which is Friday). I need to finish writing the by-laws for our school's new National Junior Honor Society chapter and put together ...

Jem, take a deep breathe. Look for boxes on CL. Have your student help you. Have Safeway deliver your groceries, it is free the first time. Don't forget to breathe. Blue

Thanks, guys. I'm stressing myself out for no reason. If stuff isn't packed by Wednesday, then it's not packed. We have no official move-out day for our current place, so we'll just bring just over on our own. I'm just being stupid. I get so fixated on things, though. I think the major stresser are the Sprout orders I need to get out. I always feel anxious when I have a pile and this is ...

Can I tell you about my weekend?? On Friday we were meeting Peter's brother and sister in law, driving down from 4 hours upstate for a party on Saturday night. As we were waiting for the call saying they had hit the bridge (translation: 20 minutes away) one of the kids fogot to "jiggle" the tempermental upstairs toilet. We noticed the flood when water started spilling from the ceiling onto ...

Here's to you, Alice. We'll get through this. Deep breathes. The weekend is only four days away.

Hugs, Alice. What a chaotic weekend! I did manage to get my kids' spelling tests, math assessments, and language quizzes from last week graded. I also got some of my piles of laundry done. Good luck with the orders tonight, Jem!

I moved 12 times in 17 years while DH was in the military. I was pregnant one year with DH out to sea and a hurricane bearing down on Charleston, SC where we lived at the time. I've packed, unpacked, coached friends with deployed husbands through childbirth, made very few dollars make it to the end of the month, had kidney stones (DH was gone then too), I could go on.... Your current move ...

I am right there. So overwhelmed, became very sick....the hurricane Ida is closing the schools on Tuesday and then Veteran's day is wed. I'm sorry but I needed this break badly.

I'm just glad she's writing! She was debating which time period to set her story in while writing this afternoon.... after a long talk about the difficulty of writing great historical fiction with accurate details, she chose (drum roll, please): 2009.

Jem, if one of the Sprout orders is mine, please wait until you have time to mail it. I am in no hurry.

( with a perfectly straight face ) An author should always write from her experience, no? ( well, almost a straight face )

You sound like you need a fun day to relax & just forget your worries for a day. You & your husband should go to an amusement park. I try to go at least once a year to not only have fun because I love them, but scream on heh rides & let off energy. Days like that are nice!
