I signed up with Orange for the Optima Surf 30 package last week. The email reply I got from Orange had no details about the package except that it costs CHF39/month. I've not got my sim pack or phone or any status updates from Orange. Currently, this package is no longer available on the Orange website and what they have is the Optima Start Surf, and I think the call costs are different and ...

An advantage of the newer package is the free number system. They're currently advertising that you can now use numbers from any Swiss network as your 3 free numbers. Which is handy ( ) if your best friend is a stubborn Swisscom customer. However in the small print, you will see that it doesn't apply to the Optima 30, 100 etc. But rather to the Start, etc. etc. I'm planning on switching over ...

From what I understand: Optima30 Calls Free calls to 3 numbers within Orange network 30 min free calls within Switzerland, Europe, USA & a few other places Above 30 mins = CHF 0.45/Min SMS 1st - 30th SMS = 0.25 31st SMS onwards = 0.15 Promotion CHF 50 rebate from first bill Optima Start Calls Free calls to 3 numbers from any network ...

Thanks for this comparison - I thought the only difference was the fact you could add non-Orange preferred numbers, but I should have read further I guess. By the way don't be surprised if your 50CHF discount for applying online, or for that matter your 10CHF discount for BYO handset doesn't get applied to your bill automatically - I've had two bills now and no sign of discounts. standard operating procedure, i think... they dont give you anything until you ask for it. I had to call and ask for the chf 100 introduction rebate for my daughter. and I had to call twice and ask for the 10/month BYOD discount ... i think they count on a lot of people to not notice...
