Thread: Open .wmv ... computer reboots

None in particular, just any .wmv file. I have checked the files for viruses and they are all clean. The moment I double click the file ... Windows Media Classic Player opens up .... there are lines on the screen of the player .... and then the computer reboots. When I try opening in Windows Media Player, I get a message to validate XP. Who knows why I get that message (my XP is legit). Sure ...

Hi koala1. Is this Windows Media Player 11? If so, you need to click on the Validate button. If you have problems doing this, use TAB on your keyboard to get to the button and then press ENTER to select it.

Thank you so very, very much AnnMarie .... it worked. Actually this was my husbands computer and he didn't tell me the validate belonged to WMP11. But we got it resolved and he is actually happier than I am .. wonder why. Again thank you so very much for your help.
