Same here. I smelled some fuel and they found a leak at the back of the engine. Replacing the gasket work. No problem now. total cost with labor is about $100.

'05 C230 Kompressor Sport Coupe
I have a significant leak from around vacuum pump for brake system attached at rear of engine to the camshaft. I have been told it is a common source for an oil leak. My question is: Is this simply due to a bad seal and pulling the existing pump and replacing the gasket and reinstalling same pump is likely to eliminate the leak, or is replacing the pump itself...

that's a good question. It's been only about a week after fixing the
gasket. I think it was a temperature related issue (in my case), as the
gasket leaks on a -46'c day in Edmonton. It was perfectly fine before. |
