Thread: Oil Change on Yamaha FZR600? - Yahoo! Answers

I know what Kind of oil to use(5w-30, says in the manual) also I do not know how many quarts to fill it in with....... Please let me know. Thanks

Just fill until it is full. It will come up to the top.

Yamaha says: 2.4 qts without filter change 2.7 qts With filter change 3.3 qts total capacity(such as after engine work which totally drains system) Also, the internet said 3.1qts for a YX600 radian which is just the earlier model (late 80's). fill it so the oil level is in between the 2 lines on the site glass on the engine case, then start the bike & run it for a couple of min so the new oil gets around the engine & fills the oil filter then turn engine off top up to the top line on the site glass then run it again, turn off & check to see if the level is between the lines, if so thats it,
