Started 1 month, 3 weeks ago by Skyscraper
A very fitting and poetic matchup. The Phillies wish to establish a dynasty by repeating as champs. how fitting it would be for them to win against the last team to have repeated.. the Yankees! Moreover, the Yankees want to reestablish their MLB dominance by taking their first title since 2000. How fitting is it for them to go through the defending champs? Discussion: I admit...

Well, given the fact that we busted up CC last year in the NLDS, I'm sure our guys are feeling pretty good. Pettite scares me a little, but we're taking this in 6

Phillies have better starters in my opinion. Cliff Lee>>>every Yankee pitcher. Hamels is better than Burnett too. If Lee and Hamels can pitch the way they have been and the Phillies bats stay hot, Phillies win in 6 easily. Thats my take.

Yankees in six. Yankees hitting > Phillies Hitting. Yankees also have the best pitcher in the world right now in C.C. Sabathia.

I'm really looking forward to this World Series... big names, talented teams, and lots of offensive firepower. I really think its going to come down to which pitching staffs can bring it at the right times.

Re: Official World Series Discussion Thread: Yankees versus Phillies Give NY a lot of credit. They earned every W, and for most of the series made people not named Chase Utley look really bad at the dish. They deserve it. Enjoy Yankee fans.
