I watched the preairs to the first two eps of the season. The show is more an extension of season 2 type material than season 1 but still very funny.

I found her character to be annoying and comes on way too strong ...

I thought this premiere was awesome! It was hilarious, crude, raunchy and I just loved it all. The new cast members are awesome. Kathleen Turner is gonna be amazing, I am calling it now (I hope I am right) that she is gonna get a Guest Actress nod for this! A

That was a good start-off to the season. The supporting cast looks excellent -- Embeth Davidtz, Peter Gallagher, Diane Farr, Kathleen Turner, and Ed Westwick from the looks of things next week. Hank struggling to care for Becca while Karen's in New York and his new teaching gig should be good driving forces for the season, though not having Natascha McElhone around full-time will be ...

Wow! Fantastic premiere! I'm really excited for this season. It looks like it's going to be a lot better than last year. Here's my full review: http://tvwithabe.com/2009/09/w...ation-season_29.h tml

"Californication" achieved record highs for the Sunday night premiere, according to a Showtime release. Its audience of 821,000 for its third-season opener at 10 p.m. was up from 522,000 for the show’s season 2 kick-off.

Episode Title: "The Land of Rape & Honey" Synopsis: Newly minted college professor Hank tarnishes his image and finds himself in a campus imbroglio when his overly candid assessment of a student's work goes over the line; Charlie takes a bit too much interest in Marcy's affairs, which causes problems on the already problematic home front. Discuss.

I thought that this was a step-up from the premiere. I liked seeing Hank's attempts at being a professor, and Ed Westwick was surprisingly good as the gay suicidal student. Kathleen Turner was ridiculously profane here, but then it was pretty funny, and she plays off of Evan Handler well. Charles and Marcy's story was weird with the rape fantasies. Becca's growing pains are interesting. ...

Big episode with Mia entering into the picture again and Hank's affair with her being exposed like that. It seems like Hank and Karen will never be happy together, which fuels the storylines well enough but is frustrating for the audience with all of their stop and starts. I liked how they resolved Marcy and Charlie's relationship for the moment, and Becca's heart-to-heart with Hank was surprisingly moving for what it was. Even...

Duchovony should submit this as a tape. I don't think it's too late for him to sneak into the Emmy race for Comedy actor yet.

I am so loving Kathleen Turner on this show. She is vulgar beyond words, BUT I LOVE IT!!! I really hope she is remembered come Emmy time.

I hope having Karen back, who has always been the heart of the show, can right this ship because I think this season has been pis$-poor thus far. I am sick of the moody daughter. I am sick of Runkle's personal problems. Kathleen Turner grosses me out a bit. I haven't laughed since the first episode. And surprise of all surprises I am even sick of all the sex. I am very close to dropping this show. David Duchovny is a fine comic actor...

I agree with what's being said here. After a rather C+ sort of season they finally turned out a great episode in the finale. Those dream sequences were stellar. And that closing scene was the best this how has done. The humor was there though wonderfully dark. This episode definately makes me want to check out the 4th season. Duchovny was brilliant in this episode.
