Well, time for that new season thread and Summer League is around the corner.
Any predictions for this year?
Oh and I predict the return of
in top form. (Wouldn't be a post if i didn't say anything about him. )
I dont really have any predictions yet this year. Like I said in the 08-09 thread I think the East is starting to get the upper hand on the West, they got a lot stronger in the offseason while most of the west didnt do too much. Lakers will probably have the one seed most of the time, and the Nuggets will be up there too, other than that I really cant say.
It will be too close to call in the...
you like atlanta that much?
what did they add?
i think celtics will have a year like the lakers with the mailman and GP, all sorts of promise but won't win the championship.
i am rooting for the spurs because of the man child from pitt, but they won't go anywhere without everyone healthy.
(and please don't mention my rockets...)
Even with getting rid of Gordon I think the Bulls are going to be better than Atlanta this season. But it could be close between the rest of the other teams below the Celtics, Cavs and Orlando. As for the Western Conference I think the Lakers will do well and maybe the Spurs. Everyone else is a toss up.
I think a lot of the additions the teams in the East are making are getting pretty overrated...even with the additions the Cavs and Celtics are making, I don't see them really standing much of a chance against a healthy Lakers or Spurs team.

Well Philly is still a ways away from being a good team again, he is not going to help them really. They might make a 7 or 8 seed, but with the big three in the east, not to mention Miami, Atlanta, even Washington, are all better teams. How long before he gets fed up with the sixers?

Haha, we might disagree then. I should have been a bit more clear. As soon as they're contracts are up, which is around 4-6 years, maybe even longer, I'm not sure, then they have a chance of being relevant. What I meant is that, with these two guy's contracts (and other players, such as Dalembert) , they've dug themselves a hole for quite some time. Brand is inconsistent, injury prone and past his prime. They should have...
