I'm debating on getting one or the other so I wanted to hear some comparing and contrasting between these 2. I just recently got Fallout 3 which is honestly one of the first RPGs I ever "really" got into. So FO3 has made me want to take a look at oblivion since I do like the Lord of the Rings movies but never really enjoyed many turn based RPGs like Final Fantasy. I thought ...
I don't have Demons Souls yet, so I can't help you there. However, I do have Oblivion GotY and Fallout 3, so here's this since you're coming from Fallout 3 and concerned with micromanagement... Though I truly like Oblivion better for its setting and story, Fallout 3 by comparison is like a breath of fresh air in terms of gameplay for the fact that you really need not be concerned...
oblivion has a very tedious leveling system, and demons souls really doesnt. but if you dont care much for levelling efficiently you could always lower the difficulty in oblivion....but in demons souls, well.... either way, this is a tough choice. oblivion is way cheaper im guessing, so if price is a factor, you might want to get oblivion. definately the best hours of gameplay ...
I was fortunate to come across a lil extra cash and Oblivion surprised me that The GOTY is 30$ brand new, so I got both games since everyone says tough call. figured with these 2 titles as well as FO3, i shouldnt need a new game for a long time. havent gotten to play these 2 yet though since im still on Fallout. Would still like to hear more opinions though. thanks.
Two completely different styles of RPG, but both are excellent. If you liked Fallout 3, you will no doubt like Oblivion as well(IMO it is better than FO3)...Demons Souls is more of an action-RPG.
I'm going to have to say demon's Souls. It's graphic design is first class, multiplayer is innovative, it is challenging, and it is atmospheric. Both games hold a place in my RPG heart, but Demon's Souls is probably my second favorite game of all time. Morrowind had a better main quest and more open gameplay, but Oblivion played smoother.
more diversity in oblivion as far as characters, landscapes, quests. i have both games and both of them are great IMO but going by hours oblivion comes out the winner as i've logged around 140 hours into it as opposed to demons souls which ive only given about half that attention. love both games though (both very addicting)you should really try and get both oblivion is only thirty ...
