Thread: OT/ Virus SPAM email

A spammer appears to have hacked my Yahoo mail account and has sent a spam email to everyone on my address list. Please DO NOT OPEN any emails with the subject "hi, u" from me - or anyone else. I apologise to anyone receiving one of these emails and I hope that they do not do the same thing when you receive them. I am mystified at how this has happened. I read my Yahoo mail via the ...

Those kinds of viruses are usually in someone else's machine not yours. For example, you and I share a number of common friends so it would be easy for you to think your machine is affected when it is actually mine - we would have a number of mutual email addresses. This often comes about from people not using the bcc option but rather letting everyone see everyone else's email addresses....
