Thread: OT: Painting Endeavor (anti-Last Supper edit)

Started 1 month, 1 week ago by S_i_m_o_n
I'm composing ideas for a new painting I'd like to put together. The idea is a "Last Supper"-type gathering of people (composition not yet determined). But, instead of twelve disciples, I'd like to put in the twenty (or so) most prominent people in the Arts, Sciences, Philosophy, writing etc. over the past couple thousand years or so. I've compiled a few possible lists, but I'd like input from...

......It is incredible "Tales Of The Women Ninja" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0224216/ The plot alone should be ample reason to give it maximum points!! I havent seen it, but I dont need to. When I first went there last week, the rating was 7.2/10 from 9 votes. With the help of brilliant people like you, the rating is now 9.9/10 with 297 votes. If we can muster up 1000+ more 10/...

0-4: not a whole lot there to remember, except that i was baptised at like 4 i believe, and am fairly certain that we went to church every sunday. Parents read a children's bible to me, was catholic. 4-11: started kindergarten at a catholic school, and continued school there until 2nd grade, when we moved, and i went to a new catholic school, then from 3rd & 4th i went a public school (...

what about taking nude pictures, and then being kicked out of a competition that has clearly stated it wouldn't allow that, and two people trying to get married are in anyway related? how can anyone be so against equal rights, yet if someone were to deny you those rights, i bet you would be up in arms. Sky cake only tastes good if people who thought there'd be sky pie don't get any...

It won't be pretty what they do to her on the witness stand. But it will be interesting seeing the first autopsy of a living body on television! But at least they can recycle her breast implants! What is essential is invisible to the eye.

if only humans were 'blessed' with free will, then why is it my dog freely chooses to sh!t on the carpet? and on the flipside, why is it he also freely chooses to go outside as well. if he doesn't have free will, then you are telling me that 'God' is up there telling him to sh!t on my carpet. that's *beep*ed up. Sky cake only tastes good if people who thought there'd be sky pie ...

I've never seen the 1937 version. There are things about it that make me wince, like Sir John Gielgud as an Asian; James Shigeta singing 'Living Together;' the pop New Age philosophy the film promotes. But there are other dramatic aspects, like how George Conway's temperament doomed him from the start, and Maria's propensity for self-deception, which led to her demise, which I find compelling....

I have.. and while I agree that there are some innaccuracies, I also don't agree with a few of your criticisms; my point is, that you don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. The sentiment is largely true... Christianity is man-made and based heavily on existing prerequisites. They push their own agenda too far, and I think only a crackpot would think the govt. would deliberately ...

said Christanty was on the decline You said "true Christianity." As opposed to "false Christianity?" In which case, it's the True Scotsman fallacy. But if you mean Christianity is on the decline, without some irrelevant doctrine qualifier, I agree. And rightly so. Let's hope it declines sufficiently and quickly enough to save us from its self-fulfilling prophecies. "The supernatural is...

i never really studied poetry per se. i remember looking into a schoolmates eyes when i was seven and there it was. the glory shone 'round about him. and i have been uplifting men and women in poetry ever since that day. it was over 17,000 days ago that i first scribbled a verse....it seems like only yesterday. There are plenty of bad things done by plenty of bad regimes done all over Africa, but this one happens to mesh with a peculiar concern of the white man and so we starve a load of darkies as punishment for stepping out of line? Sure, that's not a rational response of mine, but it's how it bloody looks, and it's outrageous. Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle

Depends on what you mean by infants. By infants I mean infants Babies Infant comes before toddler. Infant, technically, means "incapable of speech". So well before age 2, when speech has already manifested. Tell me - is there any precedent you can cite where a year-old, crawling baby is expected to be sexually receptive? Even Muhammed, when admiring a crawling baby and expressing his desire to have that baby as his wife,...

Fair play. So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.
