I still think it's the "original/low mileage" appeal that's working for it, mods or not. Stupid people blow up Subarus, too. That's nothing new. Arguing aside, has the OP's friend driven the car at all?

I think they're pretty cool. Cosworth twin-cam, sweet wheels...nice. I wonder what they drive like? I'm old enough to remember seeing Vegas regularly on the road, when they were just econo-crap. Now that most have gone away, they've become sort-of cool again, especially that one.

cosworth = good body = rust bucket

Did they have the same awful aluminum block as the regular Vegas? That thing was like trying to hold oil in a sieve.

I'll give him $1,000 for the motor. He can keep the rest of the car.
