Just popping in to say hello to your hellos from my hello from the other thread!
Canada is fantastic! It got really cold 2 weeks ago and I freaked out, but it's back to a comfortable coldness now. I volunteered at the Vancouver International Film Festival which was a lot of fun and I've just been Greyhounding around BC and hanging out with foreigners (because no one in Vancouver is actually ...
Ya know, I haven't checked the Alice boards in quite a while.
BC eh? Sounds nice. I've always wanted to go to that side of Canada. I'd love to squeeze Washington and Alaska in, too.
Ah well... someday...
What are you planning for Halloween?
Edit:
Today in class, my intimidating history professor with a reputation for having a tough class came up to me and congratulated me ...
Good morning, Starshine!
I'm getting a chuckle from Almost_Killedme's remark about snow. I, being from another sunny state also had that same thought the first time I saw a snowfall, highlighted against a street light at night. I was looking out the window at my aunt's house in Minn and was about to ask if it was rain when I stopped myself and realized, duh!, it's snow! LOL
You're ...
I guess snow is fun for a bit. I've never had to drive in it or shovel a driveway!
My original opinion on "balloon boy" has changed and I hope that the parents, the dad especially, gets some sort of penalty for this stunt. I'd like to Sweeney his sorry publicity hungry butt.
EDIT: is anybody interested in seeing Amelia ? It comes out this Friday and it isn't generating any real "buzz" in ...
I love snow, but I hate driving in it. I know people who get it year round always say, "You'd hate it if you had it 9 months out of the year" - but I don't have it, usually except for a week or two we are snow-free here, so I DO love it.
Re: Balloon boy - I'm not surprised in the least. It seemed fishy.
Sorry I disappeared. I went to co-teach a class.
Re: Amelia - not at all. It looks ...
Well, you can disappear for a class. You're excused.
That's what people tell me about snow, that I'd hate it if I had to live in with it for most of the year. I think mosquitos are a fair trade, though.
I would like to see Amelia , simply because some trailers suck but the film is pretty good. Sometimes, at least. This, in spite of me not being a big fan of Ms. Swank and her work....
I guess everybody thinks it's nice and perfect here, but the bugs outweigh any real benefit to living here. roaches of every variety, the other biting insects, fire ants, etc. But, I do like it here, make no mistake. Someday, though, I'd like to move. A nice island somewhere. I know, not happenin', but a girl can dream.

Wow. That I wish we could buy a house...but right now, since we're planning on leaving in 3 or 4 years, it wouldn't be wise. Don't want to get stuck here or get stuck paying 2 mortgages because we can't sell the house. Good luck to you though! Yay for all the wins with the principal. I'm so glad things are going better here than they did at the previous school. And book reviews with morning announcements are a kickass...
Well, I'm not 100% sure because I'm not a construction person. A lot of things look like they were JUST fixed, all new floors, countertops, paint. But the master bathroom is unfinished - new lino, tub, vanity, toilet, but needs a new stand-up shower, and I couldn't tell for sure but it looked like there might be mold (a deal-breaker if there is), because there were some dark stains on the wall by the shower. Might have been...
Glad that your meeting with the Prinzable has been a great one! Such a differnence a new school makes. Those Sweeney Watches are fun, and it's nice to talk with people of like minds. A small way to recapture the early days of this board. I don't know if or when I'll be back today, so hope that yours goes well. You're terribly late you know...Naughty! Mad Hatter 3/5/2010
Wow! That sounds like an epic deal, but what kinds of things need to be fixed? We're having too good a time today, we ain't even thinkin about tomorrow Public Enemies
DAMMIT! I always loved when the power went out in school, even if we had to keep working. It was fun and hogwarts-y. ''Do not use dangerous or illegal presentation aids.'' LOLLL. ***** Because you're tired and you don't give a sh!t. It's not super-natural.
Legit. I showed him some of the basic stuff then sent him to google to do some tutorials. I think it's one of the best ways to learn the tools and different techniques, personally. The toidy of the Black Pearl!
