Started 1 month, 3 weeks ago by SoMuchToSay41

There are two cookbooks that I would recommend to you; Betty Crocker: Everything You Need to Know to Cook Today The Joy of Cooking These both explain things very thoroughly, and are great for beginners.  Good luck.

You can go to www.Campbells.com , they have some great (easy) recipes to start with. I would also recommend a crockpot. You can pretty much cook anything in those. There are great recipes on the boards here too. Do you have the Food Network? My husband learned to cook that way, and he's great at it now!

I was going to recommend the Joy of Cooking also.  It is a great reference and how to manual.  For recipes I like to go to online sites and find recipes that have good ratings and reviews  allrecipes.com  and cooks.com are a couple I use.

Get yourself a slow cooker. Toss in some meat and veggies in the morning and it will be ready by dinner time.

The Joy of Cooking....awesome cookbook, thousands of recipies. Great for anyone, especially someone just learning. I learned by finding recipies and making them. Sometimes it's a hit sometimes it's a major miss...lol

I second  Betty Crocker: Everything You Need to Know to Cook Today. Such a great book that I use on a regular basis!

i've learned a ton just by watching food network.  if you go to their website there are a lot of video recipes so you can actually watch things being prepared & made.  i'd suggest going to the library & raiding the cookbook section!  there's tons of them & probably a "quick & easy" section- i'd start there :)
