Okay, watched all the practice yesterday on SPEED and two things really bothered me. First, I darn near cried when Randy Pemberton was interviewing Steve
Addington. That man is so soft spoken and so sweet and just flat doesn't understand why he was canned. Oh, I know what everyone is going to say and that
is "You can't fire the team so you fire the coach" But, honestly he is such a good man ...
Margie I totally agree with you on all points - I am glad you typed it all LOL Hopefully, with Tony starting fourth, that will keep him up front and out of
trouble and into victory lane!
The problems with Addington I hope isn't Kyle.
As for JJ, that is one reason why I hate watching races after the chase begins. If he was whining during practice one can only imagine what the race is going
to be like." Help the other drivers are picking on me."
Well I hear he was bump drafting, not following too close. Frankly if you're bump drafting in practice, I don't care who you are, you should be parked.
No need to end someone's weekend before it even starts. Was Mikey parked before or after Clint's accident????? Because if it was after, then it all
makes tons of sense.

They interviewed Kyle, it wasnt his decision. He gets along with Addington. This was a choice JD and Joe Gibbs made since they have no consitancy. Kyle even
admitted that he thought the inconsistancy was partially his fault. He took blame for part of the problems of the team and his outbursts when things arent to
his liking. JGR just felt the relationship between Kyle and Steve had gone stale and...
Thank you Chris for explaining that. I don't think it's a conspiracy and I don't blame NASCAR for being overly cautious. I mean after that wreck at
the end of the race earlier this year I'd be cautious too. Not everyone can walk away from those wrecks.
Cris, I think that Jason is the same type of personality that Steve is and that is why they chose Dave Rogers. It was commented on NASCAR Now that Dave has a
fiery personality and would be better for Kyle. I'm sorry but I just don't believe that Kyle didn't have a part in this. I have seen Steve on
NASCAR now before say that when they stopped having success it was because Kyle had stopped ...
You haven't offended me but Marcos Ambrose was warned for the same thing, they were bump drafting through the corner, not down the straightaways. Nascar
doesn't care about bumping down the back straightaway or through the tri-oval but if you're doing it as deep as mikey and marcos were you're going
to get warned. And then when you blatantly ignore a warning because you think you need the practice...
No I agree Margie, it does look weird that Addington was fired and I was
just as surprised as you. I just was relaying what I had read. Even Kyles
old crew chief Alan Gustavan (sp??) thought it was weird since they have so
many wins. I hope they dont regret the change as Kyle and the #18 have been
very successful and have one less win then JJ in these past 2 years. It
just seemed to me that ...
Cris, isn't there something in the works for David Gilliland to drive the #02 next year some? I have heard speculation that Addington may be his crew
chief. They both are very calm and soft spoken.

I have no idea whom will drive the 02 next year, and was really kind of hoping it was Jamie McMurray rather than David Gilliand. Although I know that EGR is looking at Jamie but having issues with Bass Pro wanting Jamie. If they do run the 02, I think they would be foolish to not use a knowledgable and experienced crew chief like Addington. Hes proven he can get the job done, just needs the chemistry to last.

I had heard that Gilliand was going to be the 4th driver for JGR. Maybe they will keep Addington for him??? As for black flagging Waltrip, I thought it was a crock too. But then again, I thought the whole sudden no bump drafting rule was ridiculous, I mean, that's how they get around at Dega. I understand that they wanted to prevent "the big one" but we still got that in the end, didn't we? I don't know that...
