Hey dudes,
What's happening chaps. My name's Mark Serrels, starting from issue 12 I'm going to be the Editor on the Official Nintendo Mag, and I just thought I'd start a thread where you guys can totally give me crap, abuse me, threaten to gauge my eyes out, or throw acid on my face.
I know there's already a Nintendo mag thread, but I thought I'd start one that I could sort of check up on. ...
So, I want a realistic, down-to-earth magazine, that's completely off-the-wall and swarming with magic robots. I can't say I've ever bought the magazine, but I wouldn't mind reading it if I won a copy through a competition held by A-N in promotion with ONM. Hint hint.
Maybe you could have guest reviews in it? You could use one of mine if you want, they're in the Wii board and DS board. Or maybe I could write one just for you?
You know I've always wanted a cheats section in the magazine because it feels bear without it. And better free stuff because well most of the freebies aren't that good, maybe add posters in the mag as well.
Lets face it. Australia's Nintendo fan population isn't exactly going to provide you with an income, with your consumer base being spread out thinner and in more obscure locations than diamond ore, distribution and selling is simply not going to work.
Simply put, you cannot do anything for us. Your hopes and dreams are forever crushed matter under the burden of reality. Go home son, rethink...
Please screw what Jader thinks. A good read is a good read regardless of info dates or sources.
As long as you have a fresh sense of humour (eg. not recycling internet jokes from 3 years ago - aka. Hyper), have in-depth, entertaining reviews (so **** Nintendo Power's garbage or the UK mag's bias), exclusive interviews (by perhaps taking questions from A-N?), insightful features (state on ...
Yeah, Kabal is exactly right, thats what I want to see, humour, first looks / previews and interviews.
As for what to put in, I think to always try your best and put something fun / cooly-nintendoish lol. I remember buying the ONM first issue only because of the Nintendo calander, and to be honest I really disliked the contents of the actual magazine itself. This is probably because the ...
I would like you to stop ripping so much from the UK mag and have more of your own stuff.
Expand the website. Perhaps include a demo disc occasionally.
[QUOTE=Waveguider;535199]I will lol if we're just being screwed around by Serrels. You better be for real, mister. Yeah, well we'll just have to wait and see
Hahaha! I'm for realz! I like the idea of Smash Bros tips. I actually have contacts in MLG - so I might be able to hook something up where we do tips from the top smash players in the world, like that Ken guy. And the other one whose name I've totally forgotten!
I will lol if we're just being screwed around by Serrels. You better be for real, mister. Just a suggestion for a feature or an article, or something. Call it predictable or cliche, but a piece on advanced techniques for each character on brawl would be awesome. I mean like, real advanced for a mainstream source like a magazine. Stuff like DACUS, reverse grabbing, etc. A good idea IMO would be the section focus on a different character...

That or it's a hoax so elaborate and well-planned that he went out to Myer today in search of a random A-Ner to make mention of this to in order to give it credibility. In which case I wouldn't care that it's a hoax, that'd be pretty impressive.

You see, for a possible demo disc the developers actually have to go through the trouble of making a demo to go on said disc. I't isn't actually the publication that makes the demos at all, so getting a demo disc done would be an inconvenience....
