Thread: OIM on Oracle RAC

Since OIM installer does not support Oracle RAC, Oracle asks that we provide information for a single DB instance from the RAC. Does this DB have to be prepared for OIM install the same way as a stand alone instance - using prepare_xl_db.sh (on linux) ? And, meet the prerequisites such as query_rewrite enabled, etc?? Thanks.

Have you checked the installation manual for your application server and OIM version? Here is the db install guide for 9.0.3 that includes instructions for RAC: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B32479_01/doc.9 03/b32459/database.htm Best regards /Martin

Yes, I did. And I want to verify that a single DB instance has to be prepared and specified during OIM install. Thanks.

OIM does not support RAC at installation time. After installation you can reconfigure OIM to use RAC Use the prepare_xl_db.sh against any node of your RAC instance to create the schema. At installation time provide one of the RAC instances as database. After installation is done, reconfigure xlconfig.xml and the data sources in your App Server to use...

OIM does not support RAC at installation time. After installation you can reconfigure OIM to use RAC Use the prepare_xl_db.sh against any node of your RAC instance to create the schema. At installation time provide one of the RAC instances as database. After installation is done, reconfigure xlconfig.xml and the data sources in your App Server to use RAC enabled database URLs. hope this helps
