A friend of mine back in the states just jailbroke his phone. He said it was very easy, and called me up to recommend that I do so too from his iPhone on Skype via his G3 network -- not WiFi. Apparently, with a jailbroke phone, you can do this! You can also torrent all your favorite apps for free, although you run the risk of upsetting Oriental Chairboy, Britney Spears and all the starving ...
You can also torrent all your favorite apps for free, although you run the risk of upsetting Oriental Chairboy, Britney Spears and all the starving artists of the world. I don't think Britney has any iPhone Apps. I don't care enough to search, mind. I'm genuinely interested though. Is it possible to 'torrent' iPhone Apps? Good iPhone Apps cost a fair bit of money and time to develop though...

Updates are optional though, so you can hear feedback from teh interwebs first. Either way, it's not illegal to jailbreak, but it will void the warranty, and some of the things you can do with a jailbroken ...

I JB'd my iphone and it seems to run nice and sweet. good fun checking out whats out there on cydia. i wanna be able to watch live sport streaming. Is that possible??

iPhone app developers are usually not "small start-ups". Some aren't, no. It depends on which country you're talking about too. I've spoken to loads of them in Japan and China though, the biggest of which has about 10 employees. None of the ones I've spoken to have been around as a firm for more than a decade.

Is tethering actually worth it? I mean, what kind of connection speed do you get over 3G? Judging from the time it takes for the iphone to load regular pages I would imagine it to be pretty low. Or is this more a limitation of the processing speed of the iphone itself?
