I would expect them to get a bit panicky next few weeks. Then really panicky in May!!
I have seen a fair few 500K+ properties go under offer recently. Obviously don't know at what price. I wonder if the Halifax nonsense data has panicked a few STR's into buying. Also a few coming back onto the market. Devalued at survey?, Can't get the mortgage?, Chain fallen through?...

Most of the ones I've seen and sold haven't gone through or never will (bought through a company possibly) Others went for pretty close to asking but that was...

The moral of this story...price right...accept decent offers...dont try and chase the market down...you will loose.
True. If its priced correcly in the market at the moment it will sell. I saw a really nice place in East Farndon late last year. It was actually 'cheap' for what it was (not on Rightmove anymore) There was so much interest there were sealed bids on it. Eventually ...

QUOTE (RandomBear @ Sep 23 2009, 12:53 PM) Most shares are up 5 fold over the same period. BUT BUT BUT inflation. I don't disagree with your conclusion but your argument is very weak. The FTSE has gone up from 3026 ( sept 1994) to 5140 ( sept 2009) in 15 years ( up 70% ) During the prime HPI's in Dec 1999 the ftse was 6255, now at 5140 ( down 20% ) And that's not taking into account the Joke that is Q.E....

The paper edition of the Chron has the headline: 'HUNDREDS OF JOBS WILL GO' ... (its not made it to the website yet). Apparently, the County Council is looking to reduce massive debts, by cutting management jobs and selling assets This post has been edited by HouseDog : 25 November 2009 - 02:37 PM

All the agents I spoke to over last couple of months were very bullish. I just laughed and told them to forget it. It's probably the least opportune time in the last 2 years. General election in 4 months time. You might as well wait for the post...

QUOTE (TheCountOfNowhere @ Jul 28 2009, 05:16 PM) Well, we could all be wrong I guess but you look at house prices and the economy and the banks and the pound and the debt and the empty shops and you have got to think they cant just have magically have fixed it. Wait till the winter and see what happens then. Actually, wait till after the next General election. If Brown wins, leave the country. If the tories win wait for the...
