Bente Nordby's Swedish club Djurgården/Älvsjö defeated Jitex BK 6-0 intheir first league match after a five week summer break. Nordby played all90 minutes for DIF and has now allowed only four goals in her last 10Damallsvenskan league matches.

I just saw an article posted to the Norwegian women's football blog about Bente Nordby being named to the World Team Roster for an exhibition match against China this April. Nordby på verdenslaget Here is the complete roster for the World Team: Rachel Brown (England), Bente Nordby (Norge), Laura Georges (France), Monica Gonzalez (Mexico), Katrine S. Pedersen (Denmark), Cheryl...

It was reported today in the Norwegian newspaper Oppland Arbeiderblad that after this season, Bente Nordby will be leaving Sweden and moving back to Norway. Nordby hasn't made any firm plans yet for 2008, but most definitely has not ruled out the possibility of playing in next year's Olympics if Norway qualifies. Bente kommer "hjem"

Norby has signed with Lyon . No word on how long her contract is, but I'm thinking it's only for a year since she does have retirement on her mind. We're glad to have her.

And we're awfully glad to have the dedicated, intelligent, insightful and bilingual Olympique Lyonnais fans around.

This is by far the longest thing I've ever translated. Since I'm not a native speaker, I took some liberties here and there, and snipped out some paragraphs that didn't seem important. (Like how big OL is, for example.) Oh, and anything in parenthesis is my words, likewise, I've inserted some question marks here and there about things I'm not entirely sure about. But the information is good. ==== After 16 years and...

Thanks for the translation, I really appreciate it. However, I've been surprised, a little sad and disapointed in reading that article. I'm sure that the Hex@gones (a group of OL fans that follows OL when they play away matches and that really like the Ladies team), including me, will always support Bente just like every other players regardless she has a bf, a gf or is assexual. It's sad that they have to be so careful though.

I just found out that Bente Nordby will be the goalkeeper coach for the Toppserien club LSK Kvinner (previously Team Strømmen). http://www.team-strommen.no/sak/003889.asp Here is my attempt at an English translation: By Mari Knudsen Updated: 16.12.2009 We're pleased to announce that Bente will be part of the LSK team next year. She will make sure that our goalkeepers get the training they want and deserve. Having such an experienced...

Thanks for the great transcription of Bente's article, Redcard. Have you learned to read Norwegian? It will be sad when she finally retires from soccer in 2009, and I haven't even gotten to see her play live yet!

quick, Bonnie, call the airline! Tell them that you have been visiting long-lost relatives and Norway, and unfortunately Mormor Solveig just died, and they're having the funeral Saturday, and couldn't you please get bereavement rates to stay two more days?? They might be suspicious, and say "but you flew from Atlanta"—just tell them you had a commuter flight first from Duluth or something. @import...
