Thread: Nissan 370Z or BMW Z4 s35i

Started 1 month, 2 weeks ago by dcs2k
Tried to find if there was any discussion threads comparing the two cars but nothing turns up. Lets say you have a budget for a brand new Z4 s35i plus another $5k for mods, will you choose it over getting a 370Z convertible with the difference in cost going towards modding the 370Z?

I see this is your first post on this site so welcome aboard. There are many good articles and tips that have been thrashed over and over about comparisons with the Z and other cars. Also options for the Z and performance. My opinion is the Z! My advice to you is search this site and read up on the new Z and make your own decision!

The 370Z...hands down.

My experience driving both: Z4 was very refined, the folding top is cool. The new design is far superior to the old one. The engine is very smooth. 370Z (touring/sport, not the roadster) was raucous, relatively unrefined compared to the BMW. Both cars handled very well. I preferred the 370Z. I'm buying one in a few weeks. Why? because the experience raised the hairs on the back of my ...

Both. When the lease is up on my wifes Z4, she will be getting the new one. A well equipped S35i is going to be in the mid fifties though, once you put sport and premium packages on, maybe even close to 60. You can have a very modified Z for that amount of cash.

I don't know what type of mods you are planning for the Z. As far as the cars go, they are in two very different price ranges. The 370Z roadster with touring and sport is around 45k whilst the Z4 is around 65k similarly equipped. You could look on youtube for an episode of Top Gear where they compared the 370z (coupe) to a Z4.

lol if only top gear ever made a serious road test

i think if you want to just cruise around town get the Z4 and an AT. if you want to drive it, then 370Z.

ok, here in Aus the z4 is approx $120,000 and the 370z Convertibkle when it comes out will be approx $80,000. Big difference. The Z4 is not $40,000 better. IMHO the Z4 has the folding hardtop which in my eyes is better thsan a cloth top for many reasons, although one drawback is that the metal roof in the Z4 when erect increases the Z4's centre of gravity, more weight up top. Both look great , ...

I don't know man, I owned BMW's up until my G35 and now my Z, and I did all the work on them. A car's a car for the most part when it comes to that. Just because most BMW drivers are 328i-driving sorority girls doesn't mean they're hard cars to work on Crap, speaking of which, when I had my 2000 MZ3, I don't remember ever seeing another M, and every "normal" Z3 was some old lady in an automatic

One look at nissanusa, and I was a changed man!
