Hi everyone, I ordered a Talon II (directly from Nighthawk) in the beginning of June. I was told 12-13 week wait, 19 weeks later, still no gun. I understand there are delays in manufacturing, has anyone else experienced a longer wait than promissed, and if so, how much longer?
was told 12-13 weeks, i'm on week 15 for a ladyhawk in .45.
i'm on month 5 of an expected 12 for my LMT piston AR
waiting sux, but i rather not rush quality work!

Wow. Before ...
Thanks for your replies guys. I don't mind waiting, just rather be told 20, 30, even 40 weeks but have it delivered in time. I contacted nighthawk in the beginning of September, I was told "one week, two weeks MAX, and still no gun. Just level with me and tel me the truth, shouldn't be hard, right?
Are you having anything non-standard done? If you're doing diamond black, or hard chrome, it is done by another shop... so you're kinda at their mercy.
I understand though... I'm not a very patient person myself.

A lot of the build times for NHC - or any other high end 1911 - depend on a lot of things. Right now the backlog for chrome and DB finish is 6-16 week backlog - according to Larry last Thursday.
I ordered 5 NHCs and just received the last one (2xDominator; 2xPDP; 1xT3). One of the NHCs came in about 2 months and the last one came in just shy of 6 months - the others in the 4 month range. ...
I ordered my Diamond Black Predator on 5/15/09 , 6 months ago. Not done yet, but I did cause almost a week delay trying to decide on slide markings. I hope to have it by Thanksgiving.
Two of my 1911's were ordered and built (one on and one ahead of schedule) during the holidays. This is absolutely no exuse. Those of you who think its simply OK to wait and wait for a gun, then have a faulty product delivered, then wait endlessly to get it fixed, obviously do not have $3000+ tied up in a product you no longer have any confidence in. I run a manufacturing/retail business, where sometimes delays happen, If I told my...
Some parts of the country almost shut down during deer season. Alot of guys have thousnads of dollars and countless hours tied up in a hobby that is only available to them a couple days a year. Im not one of them but here in KY it seems like I'm in the minority. The gun should have worked the first time. They will get it fixed.
You would normally think that staff would be kept at relatively reasonable levels to keep up with production going into the Holidays. I'm not all that sure of statistics of gun production, but most companies ramp up employes, and production within reason during this time of year. I know where I worked, some took vacations at various times during the Holidays but others looked at as an opportunity to make some additional cash during this...

I hope the finished product was worth the additional 12 weeks.
