Thread: Nick Markakis Since the Break

Nick has been tearing the cover off the ball since the break. http://www.baseball-reference.com/pl...arkani01.shtml Currently sitting at .300 .474 .829 Since the break he is a batting a monster .338 .610 .996 With five homeruns, six doubles and 16 RBI He has raised hi pre-all star break OPS by almost .040! His defense has improved too as those numbers are beginning to normalize for him. He is well on his way to being a .300 +, 20+, 100+ .800+...

Maybe the baby is sleeping at night....I apologize for any bad thoughts on that I may have had, I bow and ask forgiveness.

I don't know how sincerely you meant that, but it brings to light a very genuine factor: He's still a husband and a father in addition to the O's high-profile right fielder. Nick has always been a better 2nd half hitter. I was nervous that maybe this year that wouldn't be the case, but it certainly seems the light has switched on. By the way, little-noticed fact - Nick is now tied for 4th in the league in RBI, and he's only 2 behind 2nd place. He's on pace for 116, which would be one of the best RBI seasons by an Oriole.
