Thread: Nice cheap bed frame

Hi: First sorry if I sound a bit newbi but I just ordered a matress from Costco.ca which comes with a box spring, we are now looking for a bedframe to go with it (cheap and simple hopefully) and sort of liked Ikea's stuff, but their bed frames are designed for the matress w/o box spring. My question is, where would a nice place to get a bed frame be? Or would I be better off storing or ...

You can use a box spring with most IKEA bed frames. You can use a box spring instead of their bed slats. (Don't buy the slats, they are sold separately), and then just rest the box spring on the ledges that are meant for the slats, it works perfectly. Definitely go to the "As-Is" room at your Ikea. I had a bed picked out from Ikea... and for fun, I went to the As-Is section first and found the exact bed I wanted there. (box was ripped, but the bed frame was in perfect condition) Also got the slats from the as-is room. Saved a bundle. Obviously, YMMV, but definitely worth a look.

You can use a box spring with most IKEA bed frames. You can use a box spring instead of their bed slats. That said, the frame you picked out is sort of a low style, which would likely look odd with a box spring. I would select one of their higher styles if you plan on using a box spring.
