was looking at that earlier - looks wicked they say the concept is just a concept, but the motor is a reality and will be on the streets soon!!! bmw are making some class bikes atm - wait for next years wsb!

I like the old-style 'R' engines personally. Keep it simple. I bet that bike will be pretty fast.

I love the R's, too. My R80 was the bike I had the most fun with, put thousands of highway miles on that bike. But I later had a K75, and I have to say, it was sweet! This one looks amazing. Says the article: " with a claimed 96 lb. ft. of torque starting at just 2,000 RPM! The engine revs to 9,000 RPM and it's apparently designed as a touring engine..." Hm. I want a ...

That would make the 4th manufacturer to bring one to market, assuming that they actually do so. Aprilla made one that was really sweet. I wouldn't mind finding one. (I think it was Aprilla anyways) Suzuki was designing a crotchrocket with an I6 at one point. It never made it to market, but the expected performance figures were impressive.

That is a great looking bike.

This was at Milan. I will stick with 2 cylinders, I think 4 is too many. But it is a nice looking bike. And, look at that!: dc

Now, if they could find a way to fit a mechanical reverse in the tranny, imagine the possibilities!

David 1 replied 1 month, 1 week ago
Anime. There are already bikes with reverse. Ah, well, BMW, for one. And a hydraulic, power, push button center stand. Push the button, and the bike parks itself. dc

Schneiderman replied 1 month, 1 week ago
mmm, automatic center stand... I'll have a bmw someday in the distant future.

Has there ever been a (financially) successful inline 6-cylinder motorcycle? Honda had a racer, but that was a 125, and more for bragging rights, I guess, and not for the street. The CBX wasn't successful. Benelli had one. How many of those did you ever see? And I think MV Augusta had one a long time ago. BMW is making this one, so it my sell better than in the past, but I bet it winds up being a curiosity more than a best-seller.
