Thread: New Hair Salon site

Hello all, I've just completed a fairly basic hair salon site http://www.raverys.com using:- JA Purity template (slightly modified) Simple Image Rotator aiContactSafe (for forms) Google Maps I'd be interested what others think and, how it could be improved. Cheers, Neil

Looks nice, I really like the use of background images with the text overlaid. The overall style is really complementary of a salon site. I like the "Recommend a Friend" feature and "rebook" option but I think word scheme should be replaced with promotion since scheme can sometimes be seen as a negative. i.e. Rebook Promotion Recommend a Friend Promotion Don't forget to optimize all your ...

@tecwzrd - Thanks for the comments. I agree that "promotion" is a better word than "scheme", but the text has come from the client. I will, however, mention it to her tomorrow. I hadn't considered (or know much about) image optimization. I'll look into it. @chrisxs5 - I appreciate the comments, thanks. I think that the JA Purity template is a wonderful inclusion to Joomla. Looks pretty good overall. The one thing that I think all of us real brick/mortar businesses need to remember is to show pictures of your salon or real people before/after not just standard industry shots. Can you add a before/after in the site somewhere? If my wife were picking a new hairdresser she'd be interested in seeing their work.

@Ace2110 - Thanks for the comments and, you're 100% right about including images of the real thing. The only thing stopping us until now it, today was the first day the salon's been open to the public (the builder's were even in until just before the doors opened)!!! When the business owner's had time to calm down a bit (and get some sleep), I'll be getting some further photos from her to ...

@Ace2110 - Thanks for the comments and, you're 100% right about including images of the real thing. The only thing stopping us until now it, today was the first day the salon's been open to the public (the builder's were even in until just before the doors opened)!!!
