Thread: Netgear DG834GT discontinued :: O2 :: think broadband

Started 4 months ago by Oliver341
The Netgear DG834GT has dropped off the Netgear website, so I guess it's been discontinued. My question is, which Netgears are confirmed to have a Broadcom chipset? I know two of them, listed below. Can someone fill in the blanks (latest version of routers)? DG834 = Broadcom DG834G = Conexant DG834PN = DG834N = DGN2000 = Oliver.

The DG834G v4 has a Broadcom chip, I believe (if you can track one down) O2 HomeStd LLU, Netgear 834GT with adsl24 amended firmware v.1.02.16

Yes it does. 1,2,3 are AR7. 5 is Conexant. Bob: Demon dialup >> Freeserve dialup >> BT Broadband >> Prodigynet >> Newnet >> O2 Standard. Purple Cloud for domain , email and web space .

834Nv1. Nv2 is Conexant like the Gv5. Though I haven't seen any reports at all of how the Conexant chip does on O2.Be. Bob: Demon dialup >> Freeserve dialup >> BT Broadband >> Prodigynet >> Newnet >> O2 Standard. Purple Cloud for domain , email and web space .

Yeah, I was referring to the current latest models, i.e. the best Netgear modems to recommend to users wanting to move away from the Wireless Boxen without having to scour the intewebs for a deprecated version. I guess Netgear felt they didn't need two models with 54 mbps when faster wireless is becoming more popular, so they kept on the cheaper model, DG834G. Oliver....

In reply to a post by RobertoS : Though I haven't seen any reports at all of how the Conexant chip does on O2.Be. Pretty stable I think, certainly more stable than the TI AR7s, but takes a speed hit over the Broadcoms. Oliver. Edited by Oliver341 (Fri 04-Sep-09 16:41:30)

Sorry, I forgot to say, the PN is Broadcom 6348, same as the Gv4 and GT. The Nv1 is 6358. Bob: Demon dialup >> Freeserve dialup >> BT Broadband >> Prodigynet >> Newnet >> O2 Standard. Purple Cloud for domain , email and web space .

And the DGN2000 works very well on Be / O2 Always a slightly higher sync than the BeBox in the examples I've seen Be* Unlimited
