I don't usually post much to any of the boards. Most of my questions are answered within other posts. So here goes, I had a MRI of my brain last week, to rule out a brain tumor. The MRI showed several abnormal areas on my brain. Which my family doctor won't tell me anything in an effort to keep me calm. All I know is that my abnormalities are on the area that control mood. I ended up in the ...
Replying to: ovarian cancer- is there any hope
I too have been diagnosed with ovarian cancer. I have had 4 chemo's, surgery and am getting ready for 4-6 more chemo's. We lose our hair, we appreciate life more, we make new friends, we help others, we survive and are stronger for the journey. Standing in front of a speeding train is a death sentence, cancer is not. Your Mom needs you to be...
Replying to: ovarian cancer- is there any hope
I was diagnosed in January 2002 with stage Ia ovarian cancer. It was discovered in a pelvic exam, which, by the way, is very unusual. My tumor was 9 cm. large, but it was still early stage. The 5-year survival for stage I ovarian cancer is around 90%. For stage Ia it is about 95%. It isn't entirely clear to me from what you write that ...
Replying to: ovarian cancer- is there any hope
There is hope, don't give up! I was recently diagnosed with ovarian cancer, last April. I know the statistics are not good, but there are many types of ovarian cancer. What type of ovarian cancer does your mom have? Mine is low grade serous carcinoma, stage III. Mine, in spite of the stage, is a survivable type of cancer. Talk to the ...
Replying to: Positive results on needle biopsy
Hi Bill, Keep us in the loop....we're all pulling for you. I had non small cell carcinoma in mine (right lung), very contained and very early, so the doc decided to take the upper lobe, just to be sure. He poked around a little while he was in there too to make sure there wasn't any spreading....I was good to go, so he closed me back up....
Replying to: bro's cancer
Hi just noticed your post, I was diagnosed with lung cancer about a week ago. they found two spots in the right lung, seen a surgeon yesterday and already have a chronic lung problem so the cancer since it is in two lobes cannot be operated on because the other lung is not in good condition. So I will start chemo, All this said I understand your brothers ...
my beloved bro of 53 yrs has been really feeling bad for last 6-9 months and this week was diagnosed with "unknown primary' cancer.{they can't seem to find where it started!! } They say it is in his bones, spleen, liver & possibly left lung. Dr. seems to have high hopes for treatment. {he starts on (9/09/09] Please can someone tell me something?? Dr hasn't told him what his life expectancy ...
Replying to: Gyn. cancer? Multiple cysts in mult
No, they are not giving me advice, every time they find something, they say you are young, it is probably nothing. The only thing my PCP said was have a kidney scan done in 6 months.
August 31,2009 I went to the GYN, and was informed that I might have ovarian cancer. He has already performed blood test and is stating that the blood markers are too far off. And I've had a biopsy performed several months prior. He has also done several ultra sounds in his office. And as of Tuesday he performed another ultra sound and then also informed me that there is thickening in the ...
Replying to: Ovarian cancer
Hi Denise, I was dx. with ovarian cancer in 1996 and have come through it all well. Treatments are many and hopefully you will get through yours too. It is just often dx too late in many cases. I was a stg. 4 which is the worst but here I am. Please try and make sure that a good gyn/surgeon is doing your surgery. Very important. It is normal to feel as you do ...
I got this link from a friend of mine who also flies for a virtual airline...and he's nearly as nuts about aircraft as I am too. Take your time with these, there's pictures and some have SOUND to go with them....very cool stuff. It's the 2009 Edwards AFB Airshow http://home.comcast.net/~bzee1a/Edwards09/Edwards09.html
Replying to: I guess I asked for this... Welcome to our board... I'm sorry for your diagnosis, but you clearly are ready for battle and that's a great attitude to have. Everyone deals with their diagnosis differently, but moving forward and aggressively is good. We're here to help whatever way we can. Feel free to vent, ask questions or whatever you may need.. It's what we're here for. Again, welcome. Hugs, Angie
Replying to: I got less to do! Sorry, my clinical trial is not over with by any means. I am still on it. My hair is white or almost so anyhow. I had scans done on this past Mon. They came back as "stable". Stable is good! My last blood work showed an increase in calcitonin going from around 4100 to nearly 4800, so I am still concerned with that, but I will take stable. CEA though dropped from 42 to 41. Side affects are still...
Replying to: stage 4 B Yesterday we went to Hspital for a CT Scan, next Tuesday the 15th we go to Dr for the results. the 15 is her moms birthday. Thanks to everyone for the imput. Replying to: New to WebMD need help with diagnos You have to go see a doctor (head and neck), nobody else can give you a diagnosis. If you cannot afford it, there are always ways to get treated (many go to the emergency room) or try to borrow the money... You cannot go on like this, not knowing what is going on with you...
My ONC asked me that a year ago and based on my assumption that biliary cancer is terminal if it returns. A recent discussion with that doc added a bit of info. For a recurrence to be spotted on a CT Scan, it must be about 1 cm in diameter. That means it has been growing for a while and has spread. Why does it happen at all? Well, I was operated on and a few cancer cells, say a million, were probably released. That's why radiation and...
Replying to: stage 4 B I am so sorry to read such sad news. You and your wife will be in my prayers and my prayer for your wife is... she will have a miracle cure. I am the general lurker, but you really touched my heart. God bless you both.
Replying to: I guess I asked for this... Thank you, Pilgrimgirl66 (Angie). Today is a good day, I guess, eh? Day before yesterday in that meeting/consultation with the Pulmonologist, I was not so good. It'll be interesting as to how I feel tomorrow after the Biopsy. But I will be on here later in the day, none the less. Kinda feels good that when I registered on here, got an account, then a profile, I browsed around and even replied to...
Replying to: lung cancer My dear better 2010 You should remember every day how lucky you were that you found out about your Cancer in time to be alive right now, I also had a Lobe Removed June 2006 and perfectly understand how you feel, but my friend cheer up and try to leave your pain behind an live every new day as a new happy day. As time goes by you will feel better and better every day and will realized that God is there for you....
Replying to: Saw my Pulmanologist I know the feeling. I have had many lung issues over the last few years [ many of which they never fully diagnosed but just treat me when I have issues breathing]. hope you don't have to see him for a while.
