It is officially less than a month until kick off of NaNoWriMo 2009.
Anyone already making plans/outlines/budgeting to pay someone to write it for them? Friends of mine harassed me for three years before I finally tried it back in 2006. I've participated every single year since then and have never finished.
To me, finishing is fantastic, but not the point. This is an exercise to get us ...
I'll be doing it again this year. It's a great writing exercise, and I've come out at the end with both partial and full rough drafts. My first attempt ended up about halfway through the story (it was longer than I'd originally imagined) while still making the 50k goal, and the second one came out complete. For my second year I worked off of a key plot/notecard system, and I think that's what I ...
I tried last year, but gave up too quickly. I didn't have enough motivation or something. I do want to try it again this year and actually stick with the story I decide to write.
I've never tried this since November was a horrible time for me to write creatively as a student, but since I've graduated maybe I should give this a go.
I'm going to be giving it an actual try this year. I signed up last year and wrote a grand total of about half a page, because I had zero ideas. This time around I'm going to be using an experimental approach that should be a lot of fun.
I'll be giving it a go, but purely for wordcount. I'm writing a few stories simultaneously at the moment, sticking with whichever holds my attention the most.
I've only participated once, but I did complete that one. My wife and I are planning on participating again this year, and I'm pretty confident I can pull it off again. I've been known to write the occasional wall o' text when I put my mind to it, so I know I can , it's just that I lack the drive to actually do it.
Commitment! Dedication!... *goes for a nap, then plays computer games for 5 ...

I'm not going to completely give up. I'm going to try another story idea. Different variations of the story have been running around in my head and I want to give it a shot. I'm going to shot for 25k so I'm not too rushed.
7291. About 1000 words behind where I ought to be, but I still have all day tomorrow to catch up, if I can find the time. Work's still coming first, though. My novel isn't really flowing too well at this point. Whenever I get to a point that's giving me trouble, I drop it and go to a more interesting part to write about. This is good for keeping me interested in writing, but it's making the text very disjointed. Restraining...

Lagging behind at roughly 2,500. Not ready to give up the fight yet though. We'll see what today brings. __________________ Memories how they fade so fast, Look back there is no escape.
