Thread: NW parkrunners united: BP, HP, WP or CBA this Saturday?

Started 3 months ago by JamieKai
Our teachers made us cover our books in paper for some reason. My friend covered hers in drawings of sheep, which all but the biology teacher loved :S In other news, not sure if I can run Heaton tomorrow - my knee has decided to throw a tantrum with me I'll still be there though. If you see me looking miserable (or grimacing after running) do forgive me!!

Kids are taught lots of "soft skills" these days including delegation... Covering the barcode with brown paper don't work. Lots of fun with barcodes this morning but seemed to work and quicker too!

We've been running barcodes for a while at Heaton. People are starting to get their heads round it - but it works really well and really speeds registration up :D Only 66 at Heaton today, and one lad fell over a dog Nothing worse than a couple of grazed knees though, and he carried on to complete the course too! My knees held up ok, I'm ready to tackle the Pennington Flash 5M tomorrow now :...

Good luck Jame I'm ytrying circaspin tomorrow all part of my keep my fitness up for Loch Ness with minimal running. Miust rescure my barcode from the washing machine. I've got some laminating pouches somewhere just need a laminator

Bob - you can even switch between barcode & normal entry if you're quick. We had 44 at Woodbank and that was despite the schools x-country taking some of our kids. We are now looking to market the event more, Posters, websites, etc...

Yeah its going well Tony and good to see some of Bramhall's finest making there way over to Woodbank. Your winner today was the guy who ran Bramhall in his y-fronts a few weeks back.

Steady Edwina replied 2 months, 4 weeks ago
Y-fronts what a turn off

Manc Girl replied 2 months, 4 weeks ago

Did my first HP on Saturday, very impressed with the organisation and enjoyed the run. I will do a few more, then give BP and WP a try and also put myself forward as a volunteer - thanks

Well it's certainly "spanner weather" in Bramhall. -6C forecast overnight. It just depends how much ice - last year we had 10 frozen Saturdays but only cancelled once. We'll be there early to grit / divert around ice. So we're planning to run at this stage but certainly subject to pitch inspection. If it isn't safe then we won't race. The Xmas party in the cafe and mince pies are going ahead so come along in...

We may have to give the alternative route a go. Will be there nice & early to assess the course. Fairly certain there will be a run on Pato.
