A few faces on the streets of Tel Aviv, all taken with the fz8 on maximum zoom (without EZ), light wasn't always perfect, but without the zoom there would jave been no chance of taking these: http://lh4.ggpht.com/_vdHEh3opp40/SvZ1WW4AjiI/AAAA AAAANj0/_lsj8sqT1nM/s800/P1200916.JPG http://lh6.ggpht.com/_vdHEh3opp40/SvZ1YsbFbfI/AAAA AAAANj4/W2IqrKbeoHc/s800/P1200932.JPG http://lh3.ggpht.com/_...
Very well done, Dov. All captivating faces, all sharp, and with good colour and light. No real favourite, but maybe the last one because she engages with us so strongly. Richard
Excellent shots,Dov! That last one is Great Capture! Timing is perfect You do so well with these candid shots! And the FZ8 never looks better! Love the detail LX3 zoom range is too short, for such shots,as these Certainly not a replacement, but an additional team member, along with your FZ8 ANAYV
It is rare that I take so long to study photos posted on thiis forum. These shots are captivating and demand the study of the subjects. A measure of any portrait must be whether or not the subject would approve of the shot. Without doubt you would receive resounding approval from the subjects here. Spendid work. Enjoyed it greatly.
Probably some of the nicest portraits I have seen. No matter what camera is used it is the photographer that is the key. Splendid work and the colours are very natural looking, unlike some of the weird stuff I have seen from current Lumix models. The FZ8 is far from outdated in your hands.

Thanks, yes, I remember. Wish I could like it, but yeah, the FZ8 still has a Wow factor for me so I'm quite happy. Mike

Our late friend Bill Allgood would have really appreciated these shots. I have missed him and his posting of those wonderful portraits he used to do. Thanks again for posting these, I think it takes a certain kind soul to take such portraits, a people person who can put his subjects at ease in front of the camera. I know these are candid, but I have seen others of yours where the subject knew, and they all have a certain ease to them. Hard to...

The rest of the FZ38 spec looks good and for LCD users I'm sure it's great, but the EVF kills it for me. > > The point being, I'm staying with the FZ8 . . . . probably for quite a long time. Who knows a thing or two about photography, and he said they are top class shots, regardless of the camera, and that he would be happy to hang most of them on his wall. He really looked impressed! Well done Manny
Nicely done. And I agree the FZ8 is a super superzoom. I have had mine for years, and literally taken 10's of thousands of pics with it, and am still amazed at how well it performs, and the results that can be obtained with it. Thanks for sharing those photos showing your mastery of a very fine tool.
