She died peacefully in her sleep at my home in Kempsey. Predeceased by her adored husband Kit (19141999); survived by loving children Charles, Elisabeth, Frank, James, Catherine, and Brett, and by grandchildren Meg, Alison, Claire, Will, Pym, Tom, Matt, Alec, and Sally.

Yawn, whatever. But has it occurred to you that many who might take that sort of thing seriously enough to feel generational anger do not in fact because it is not worth it?
