I keep seeing occasional reports of the AM2 retention bracket breaking - seems like a pretty lousy design to me. AMD would have been better sticking with the older S939 / S754 design which used 3 retention lugs (and meant folks could still have used a lot of the older non-stock heatsink solutions). A bit of an own-goal IMO.

What settings have you set your memory to in the bios?

blakelock replied 2 years, 1 month ago
actually, based on some other posts, i just changed my memory settings in the bios. my current settings are: trfc0 = 105ns trfc1 = 105ns (originally these were not the same value even though i have 2 identical sticks of DDR2 in these slots) i manually increased the RAM operating voltage to 2.0 V set other RAM timings to 4-4-4-15-2T the system seems to be stable so far. i played helf-...

well i'm still fighting this one. my memory timings are 4-4-4-15 2T and i was running the RAM voltage at 2.0V. this same graphics crash happened again so i'm upping the voltage to 2.1V. good luck to me.

Re: **Official ABIT IX38 QuadGT Review/Overclock/Guide Thread** Keep us posted on how you go with this! Is the Q9650 recognised and correctly named by the bios? If so, have you tried an underclock on the processor and memory?

Im having a temp reading issue with my ip35 pro and a newly installed q9400. I updated to 17 bios but my cpu reading in bios is wrong, its reading 115 to 195 c. The core temps and my ir temp gauge read about 30 c. I put in my old 2180 and the cpu temp reading in the bios works correctly. Any ideas?
