Hello Ladies, Well after that horrendous 12 week scan and given crappy odds of 1 in 14 for Downs syndrome or an even worse condition that sadly has affected one of my family because of the thick nuchal fold, one failed CVS attempt , horrendous one month wait for amniocentesis results then finally given the all clear only to be told yes but there could be cardiac defects and we have to look out for those at your anomaly scan. Well I had my 22 week scan this morning and all is well THANK GOODNESS! Baby is growing well and no problems could be seen despite me having to spend a nerve wracking time turning on my left side then my right and back again and again and the doctor giggling the scanner up and down hard on my belly as she was trying to get a good look at babys heart and baby kept moving. Finally it is good news and she said It's just one of those things sometimes a baby has a very thick nuchal fold usually it's a sign that something is wrong ( like Downs) and they have to check it out but sometimes baby can still have a very thick nuchal fold and still be perfectly healthy. PHEW! What a roller coaster! Now I need to choose a hospital for the birth and register with a consultant. I am tired out now. All this modern technology is great to have but sometimes it can't half give you a good scare eh? Wishing everybody good luck for there scans xx.

...  I'll keep you in suspense for a bit!  ;0) Hi all I normally lurk mostly, but I haven't had much chance to log on recently to even do that, but as everyone in my house is taking a nap (including DF! lol) I thought I'd take the chance to log on and share my news! Baby number 3 for me is going to be a BOY!!!  3rd one for me - I'm going to be totally outnumbered aren't I! LOL  I had a fleeting moment of sadness that it wasn't going to be pink, but I'm so excited that I know what flavour it is now, and that we can get everything ready for his arrival (what a fortune I'll save too won't I! lol).   He's due on 26 August - which is 5 days before Ben turns 2.  I'd rather they didn't end up sharing a birthday, but other than that I really don't mind when he arrives - although if it's going to be a hot summer like they predict, then maybe a little earlier would be better (although not TOO early of course!) My scan went really well, baby was very good at showing everything it needed to - including his bits which was the first thing we saw! lol.  Plus I reach 24 weeks this week, and I'm so glad to get to that stage (after 2 m/c last year) especially as I'm now starting to look pregnant rather than just fat!  I do love having a bump! Hope all mums, toddlers, babies and bumps are doing ok :0)
