I completely agree. It was a bad idea making it a duet and it was bad idea to re-write the lyrics. Maybe it would have been better if the new lyrics weren't so badly written.

Well, I'm sure we know that Sye is Deena in the broadway production Dreamgirls, but not sure if some of you know that "Listen" is now a duet between her and Effie. Also the lyrics are now completely different, yet they do manage to flow with the storyline and the two characters beautifully and the melody is messed with a bit as well. My thoughts exactly, Bingy! Me too. I thought the version they did at some sort of preview media opening on the tube was the whole thing, but in a rehearsal there's more lyrics added in. Check out the teaser in my bookmarks titled "Listen duet". It's a combination of different acts, but "listen" is included.
