Thread: Mustang GT beats Chevy Camaro and Dodge Challenger in R & T Comparo

Started 3 months, 1 week ago by PEREZ
Everything about the Pony Express was frenetic. Despite its legendary place in Western history, it lasted a brief 19 months, from the spring of 1860 until the autumn of 1861. The trail ran almost 2000 miles, from St. Joseph, Missouri, to Sacramento, California, and the young riders rode flat out, day and night, leaping onto fresh horses every 10 or 12 miles at relay stations. About every 100 ...

The Mustang is the beneficiary of Ford's now standard continual improvements effort. The 2010 while cosmetically very similar to the 2007, is materially improved in a host of areas. I love the Camaro's styling and that 3.6 DI V6. I love the Challenger's seats and long distance driving poise. But for day-to-day driving and value, the Mustang is hard to beat.

All reviews have pretty much said the same things about this trio. They all have their advantages over each other, making these rankings essentially useless. Buy the one that does what you want, all three are great and I wouldn't question the decision to buy any of them.

Good news for challenger fans i read on a Challenger forum that the spec for the 2010 challenger to be released today but it will probaly be sometime this month i hope the SRT has the 6.4 with 500+hp! Mopar or no car! Quote of the year by LoveMyChallengers I like both but i like the Challenger a little better, however I agree the vintage Cuda is cooler, but the Challenger isnt ...

SRT w/500hp would be nice, but I would rather see some weight taken out first. Then I want to see a Track Option for the R/T that gives you the SRT suspension and brakes. I ...

^^^^^^Not to mention that the Challenger is getting a price increase for 2010.

Wow, I guess they really don't like how the Camaro looks.

The caqmaro is looking outdated already. the Mustang has a effed up rear, and the Challenger is the best overall!

Badstang08: I have seen plenty of '05 to '09 run easy mid 13 sec 1/4 miles, and with simple bolt-ons (not superchargers) they run low 13's or even in the 12's. The 2010 is capable of running 13.2- 13.4 with a good driver. Supercharged mustangs suffer from lack of traction due to the instant torque of a positive displacement supercharger. If the 2011 Mustang GT has a 5.0 with 400hp and six speed auto or manual, it should...

LoveMyChallengers: Your selling the Firebird? Well, I can understand. The cost to rebuild a classic car to new is staggering. I wish I could do a ground-up on my '71 Challenger but that may not happen for some time. I am happy that at least she is in a garage out of the elements. You have a couple of other cool cars. I don't see many '69 Camaro's anymore and I haven't seen a '67 Ranchero in 20 years! Hang on to...

I'm guessing the Mustang with 400 horsepower will run 13.3. Or about a 13.1 with the optional 3.73 gearing.

Fastlane1: After the Mustang get new engines, that's definitely going to be a deal unlike the overpriced Challeger or the Chevy Camaro with a $5K-10K Mark up. LL SPOOK J: So you're ASSuming the Camaro will still be marked up late next year? Umm FAIL. From some of your previous posts I've seen, your tongue definitely loves that word..doesn't it ?  is it because you're used to it? Well,We'll have to wait...

2000camaro: Not the car. The magazine is called 5.0 Mustang Magazine. 05chevytahoe5.3L: oh ok. They probably used slicks or ran in it on race fuel ItsAllAboutFord: No it was completly stock. No race fuel and stock tires. 05chevytahoe5.3L: Lets just wait and see how well the 5.0L V8 will perform Im pretty sure it will perform just as good, if not better, as the Camaro in a straight line.

As I stated in an earlier post, the LSA (basically a supercharged LS3) has been tapped as the power plant in what would be a 2011 Camaro Z/28. However, due to the current economic climate (GM's in particular), the Z/28 is not likely to see production in the near future.
