I often buy music in hard copies when i really really enjoy it. I see no point in buying digitally and it baffles me how digital downloads are so high. That said, i like this article for being completely honest!
The sad part is pragmatically speaking we largely decided the answer to this was also "no" a long time ago. Libraries, art galleries, museums, etc. mostly used to be free, it's only recently that they charge admission (although most libraries let you in to look at the books at least for free).
All of this pointedly ignores the economic realities that musicians must deal with. Well, at this point, I simply point at CEO’s salaries and wash my hands of the whole subject.
