Thread: Mucous plug -- what's it look like?

Also, I lost mine 8 days ago. There is no baby yet. Did the same with DS. I lost it at 36 weeks with him and had him at 41 1/2. It just depends on your body and when baby is ready. I would be ready to go into labor, but don't be upset if it isn't soon.

I'm sure this is TMI, but oh well! When I was going #2 this morning, I felt something fall out of my vagina into the toilet. It was a yellowish/whitish gelatinous glob of mucous that was bigger than a quarter. Could that have been my mucous plug? Or just lots of discharge. Yesterday, I had a little hunk of that stuff on the toilet paper and it was pretty firm and gloppy -- not like any mucousy discharge I've had before. Since the...

That's how I lost my plug with my 1st.? Sat down to pee and felt this thing slide out of me.? It's your plug.? I think most women lose it over a course of days in the mucousy form, and then others, like us lose it in one lump sum.?

It's almost like you've answered this question before or something, Annette. ;-) ? To OP, yup, probably your plug falling apart instead of coming out whole. Now you know you'll go into labor, eventually and soonish. :-)

I also had the large, yellowish gelatinous blob....I'm sure hoping it was the mucus plug because otherwise I don't have a good explanation!!!
