Thread: Movies that are worth watching for just one scene alone

Started 1 month ago by Golden_Crocodcuk
IE films that aren't amazing, but that has some truly great scenes in them. 'Sometimes A Great Notion' is the best that I can think of. It's seriously flawed, but it's got some good stuff in there too. However there's one scene in particular that you'll never forget. Not going to spoil it, so check it out for yourself. Well i love the opening scene of Way of the Gun. But because its the opening scene you can just turn the movie off right after it so unfortunately it doesnt make the whole movie worth watching 'You know Jill, you remind me of my mother. She was the biggest whore in Alameda'

I can't think of any films like that.

Really? Not even Airplane 2 with that one Shatner door gag? Big Black - He's A Whore http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I-R_0BsXBfs

Get Shorty is worth watching because of Gene Hackman in his little office trying to be a heavy guy.

I lol'ed more at that joke than all the rest of the jokes in that film combined. Back on topic: "Deep Blue Sea" when Samuel L Jackson is just about to start shouting J Dilla Changed My Life. Rest In Beats.

The Odessa Steps scene in Battleship Potemkin One of the greatest films ever made, but that scene (not to mention the film itself) is absolutely breathtaking.

Still not seen that, but definitely sounds like a sound choice based on what people have said about it. Big Black - He's A Whore http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I-R_0BsXBfs

That joke is a cracker it's true, but there are other good moments in the film. Perhaps Alan Rickman's scene in the bedroom in Dogma might count. Terrible film, but that scene was funny.

I haven't seen The Brown Bunny yet, but...well, I thought...in this thread....mentioned and so on... Sauerkraut

No wonder Zach Galligan kept staring at her "chest" in that bank scene in Gremlins! The weed of crime bears bitter fruit. -The Shadow
