Thread: Moveset for Salamence

Is this a good moveset for Salamence? Adamant nature -Dragon Dance -Dragon Rush -Dragon Claw -Earthquake it's a just hatched Bagon so I should EV train it

Depends on what its for. Maybe it would be okay in-game but other than that, no its not a good moveset.

Dragon rush =/= good move.

Flamethrower over Dragon Rush. That way, you have unresisted coverage.

^It's an Adamant Salamance, Flamethrower will be relatively weak and unable to cover that weakness with a flamethrower because of the +attack -special attack nature.

Did you look up Salamance on www.smogon.com and check their suggested configurations? I usually check that out first. Also, if you can find a wifi level 100 battle to drag him in to you can get his stats if he is leveled all the way up and see what his IVs are.

The Dragon Dance set on Smogon has allowances for Adamant nature if you run DD + Outrage + Earthquake + Stone Edge/Dragon Claw at 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe. Personally I can't see running Outrage + Dragon Claw -- if you don't like being locked into Outrage, why have it at all? But then I'm not an experienced competetive player, so who am I to say. You could also give it Roost over Dragon Rush if ...

But it still works to take out a weakened Skarmory, Forretress or Bronzong, though the last 2 will probably explode when they're low on HP. You can use Fire Blast, too.
