Thread: Motorcycle enthusiasts: what is the point of a motorcycle with really tall handlebars?

I saw a large group of motorcyclists riding down the highway this afternoon, and quite a few of them had the ridiculously high handlebars. They just look incredibly uncomfortable. Does that design serve any particular purpose, or is it just for the looks? var addthis_pub = 'du_addthis';

A poser however, would probably say they look really 'cool'. Meh. I have mini apes on mine. Which is more a description of style, they don't elevate my hands above my shoulders, just to about mid chest height and I find them very comfortable on long journeys, and by that I mean a 4000 mile round trip to Las Vegas from Louisiana.
