I plan to post an extensive review on my blog in the next week. It's easier for me to post the review ...
Good Afternoon (Conn. Time)
New today to site, First Post. Wayne from Motoport referred me to site. I
gave him a deposit and am on list for April Delivery of Jacket w/two
liners, and pants with liner.
I also have on order a 2006 Goldwing. As some of you might know the Wing
has great wind protection and also a vent on the windshield that directs a
lot of air to the body in hot weather. (I ...
I ordered via conversation with the lady at Cyclport after Wayne had E Mailed me pics and sent samples of fabric. I'm an off the shelf fit most of the time and we decided that a XXL was the right fit.
I ordered a Hi Viz Air Mesh 3/4 on Monday afternoon. Received it on Friday the 6th and thought it was great except too big even on the bike with both liners installed. I boxed it back up and...
I bought the kevlar mesh jacket and pants based upon the information I found in these forums, so I thought I should add my experience. I hope it will help someone else in deciding what to buy.
I wanted something to wear in the heat. I have a Teknic Cyclone jacket and First Gear HT 2.0 pants for the winter, and I have no problems with them at all. In the summer, I was wearing jeans and ...
Just found this thread and thanks to Gringo for starting it. Been thinking
about a Motoport kevlar jacket & pants but been hesitant coz I need better
photos and info than their website. Thanks Gringo for the photos. How about
you other guys? Could you post close-up & full body of your jackets &
pants? Am interested in the color combos also. This thread has been great
on info. Thanks.
Weird. I dug this one up just today.
Maybe you saw it referred to in my thread:

Basically, the same thing before I found this one in the archives.
From what I've gathered, the stretch Kevlar lets LESS air through than the
standard kevlar. However, it appears that the stretch kevlar is a bit more
comfortable.
Gringo says something about ...
Sorry no pics, but I have both the Strech Kevlar and the Mesh Kevlar, in
hot weather ridding a Goldwing screen the Mesh Kevlar is the way to go you
can see right through the material. The material is a little stiff at first
but will soffin up as you put on miles. The Strech Kevlar is my favorite
very comfortable right out of the box. You can't go wrong with either suit,
both are vey well made.
Stretch kevlar is solid fabric- but the weave allows some air to pass
through. The other stuff is mesh (see his pic of the swatches on page one
of this thread?) and does not stretch at all. I'd think the mesh stuff with
the goretex liners would be perfect for riding in florida. The stretch
stuff is gonna be too heavy for most of the year down there IMHO.
I have two Ultra II Kevlar Jackets with matching pants not the air mesh. I
have rode in 120-28 degrees and they are versitle enough. Use a neck cooler
(cool rider) in the heat and a electric vest in the cold and you are set
up. The reason I chose Motoport? Due to the Kevlar and the removable
Gore-Tex liners. I have the removable Gore-Tex liners but prefer the
Motoport Soma over suit its less ...

Wayne referred you to THIS site?
(BTW I live on Cape Cod, not near Boston, though much of Boston does move
here for the summer to make the riding suck...)
Many thanks guys.
Was pondering the stretch, just so the armor, etc, would stay in place
better. however, seems like everyone's saying the regular non-mesh will
stay in place just fine by itself.
Called today to get their hours of operation. (they weren't open on Sat.)
It's M-Fri 8-5 That's Cali time, so I'll be able to call them when I get
off work in FL tonight and get put on the waiting list...
In case I didn't say my opinions on the Motoport before:
1. Mesh is more versatile, as you can warm up a suit with layers but you
cannot cool one down. Maybe the mesh kevlar with the rain liner is roughly
as warm as the stretch kevlar alone? You get the point.
I rode the highway last night in freezing temps and was fine with my new
Motoport Ultra II kevlar mesh jacket -- layered underneath of ...
My bad.
I must have screwed up the terminology.
I meant that I plan on getting the mesh. The non-stretch kind. The one that
Gringo's picture showed the light shining through.
thx charles.

Well it finally happened, Motoport got a great review in this months BMW ON magizine! The reviewer bought the mesh ultraII pants and jacket along with the liners. He ordered it over the phone and was impressed with the fit of the suit.

lyris, I got the standard hip-armor in my new stretch Kevlar jeans. I like the blue Tri-armor!!! & thought the hips were done very well, as I didn't want them to look wider. (girl hips) I like the Tri-armor a lot. I've used it in another old suit for years & feel it is always in place. I even bought extra & use the Tri-armor in some Dainese pants & others.
New Waist Cut in Hi-Viz!!! Well, I'm pleased to say I'm the proud owner of a brand spankin NEW waist cut Motoport Air Mesh Jacket in Hi-Viz I'll just say that I find this jacket far more comfortable than I first expected being an owner of the Air Mesh over pants prior to purchasing the jacket. I really REALLY like it! I will attempt to include some pictures...

Then I zip the jacket to the Ultra II pants, and I'm comfy into the 20s. I never use the insulated liner anymore.
