When two characters stand around talking for 15 minutes, yelling for the next 6 minutes, and finally getting into the actual fight for the last minute of the episode. Just fight already! Quit talking about it!
That being said, I still love Bleach.

super and obvious fangirls (i.e. Amane Misa (I hate her so much), pretty much every girl in Ouran High school Host Club, etc...)

Keeping in mind cliches are 99.5% unavoidable in any story and that a cliche CAN be used or presented in a way that makes it look good, a cliche has to be pretty bad to make me hate it. So mine are:
-dramatic speech about protecting everyone delivered from the main protagonist usualy. Declaring you'll protect them or something is fine, it's going on a long speech about it that really...
Protagonists who at the start of the series are annoying n00bs who think that they're hot s hit and end up becoming the most powerful character in the entire show. IE; Naruto.
All of life's problems can be solved by finding an emo kid and beating the crap out of him.
Seeing as Naruto is nowhere near the most powerful character, your example is not valid.
"Oh it'll be your own torture, I hope it tortures you to madness"
I have to say,The hero, with two or more women trying to score with him, who for some damn reason, is either to shy to share so much as a kiss with the Harem of women that he constantly gets fanservice from!! It's so bad that the villan or another girl often kisses or persues his love intrest first!!
"I've got a similar cliche: the hero who is hopelessly outmatched by an absurdly powerful villain still manages to win when he uses some incredible power within himself that he had never used before and that he had just discovered during the final battle. It's annoying as hell not just because it's used in every shounen anime that comes out now, but because it makes nearly every fight all about who has the most power....
Yeah, anime hair gets really distracting, especially when a character in a completely serious anime has a hair style that would look incredibly stupid in real life.
School rooftops (and the conversations that are held up there). "Not trying to be insulting here, but you don't watch any shonen, do you? And about your signiture, well, I could say the same for fangirls, couldn't I?" Dude, SHUT UP. There is nothing more annoying and obnoxious to me than some moron who, for lack of contributing anything of any substance to a thread, wants to start an argument. Go fight with your...
That person's name has "vivi" in it, so I don't think that was a guy. "Every escape artist is claustrophobic, that's why we want to escape."
UPDATED Sat Mar 15 2008 21:08:14 "I can't stand how stupid many of these "likeable young heroes" can be, falling for every sly remark and scheme. Why can't they actually try to outsmart the villain back and forth and have a genuine battle of wits?" I think because in anime series of that nature, cynicism & sardonic jokes are viewed as negative personality traits....Or at least, personality...
Lately I've taken a dislike to girls who are insane with love for guys who either a) don't love them back or b) actively despise them. These situations tend to degrade both the girl and the guy, undercutting sympathy for them. It's hard to feel much respect or admiration for a girl who routinely humiliates herself in pursuit of a guy who doesn't give her the time of day, or for a guy whose mission is not to win or earn love...
I find that there is a number of misogynistic cliches in anime, like female characters being useless. One show that does that to the most annoying degree is Tokyo Underground- Ruri is far too cliche. God is so an anthropomorphic platypus.
UPDATED Mon Dec 17 2007 13:26:01 Well the title of this thread is "Most annoying anime cliche(s)?". We were asked to post the cliches in ANIME that we personally found annoying. Not cliches in mobster movies, sci-fi fantasty films, horror movies, rom-coms or anything else...Sure there are other cliches in other genres of anime but that user found the ones in shounen the most annoying. He didn't say "I hate all...
