Thread: Monkey see Monkey do_WIP

Started 2 months ago by RockyMills_01
Monkey see Monkey do_WIP Hi guys, I am working on a monkey character here. I need some feed back on it. Not really the design but the topology itself. I have always had problems with keeping my geometry clean in past projects. I am trying to build the character to be mostly quads. but I keep getting triangles here and there. The character will be 3000 polygons. Right now ...

Leona Lewis Portrait Haven't posted any work in a while, thought I would post a piece I'm almost done with. Been working on it for a few months off and on. Decided to get back to it again. Sorry about the quality. It is a WIP after all. Let me know what you think. Attachment: leona_lewis.jpg This has been downloaded 72 time(s).

Cheers daverave and s2-speedy thanks for the comments! daverave, It's not a CG model, it's just a painting. I would post this in the lounge, but the last one I did was moved here to the WIP forum.

*I decided to straighten up the tip of the roof and let the texture show the detail rather than add more polygons. *Added some shading to the shirt *Applied more detail to the galvanized fencing. Let me know what you think. Attachment: low_residential_update.jpg This has been downloaded 23 time(s).

that fencing looks much better! good work!

daverave replied 3 months, 1 week ago
looking good, possibly add some grass texture to the bottom of the fence to brake up the straight lines could also add some ground texture to the bricks were they meet the ground. you could have used instances to add more detail to the roof. One last thing the steps look of place sorry no help with that one.................hope this helps Last edited by daverave on 01-...

I am going to post shots of the build from the bottom up as I go through naming and putting the parts into their hierarchy. I plan to do the same for the high-res build. I was gonna do some images of the process going from the proxy to the high-res parts. If I can I was going to try to put together a couple camtasia videos showing some of the stuff I have recently figured out like rigging the three cylinder actuators used in the robot. I am...

I'm just using the regular camera atm. Should I use an exposure lens? What are good settings for this? Alright I'll increase the the FG filter and change the angle up a bit to make it not so boring! Thanks for the advice!

effacer, are you saying you'd like all the pieces so you can try rigging it when i'm done with them? haha murambi, no pressure right? i'm making everything up as i go, but yeah, i'll go into some detail about how i'm doing things if you want, i'm kind of going backwards to the whole model -> texture -> rig workflow and going model+rig - > model -> rig ... if that makes sense......
