Thread: Missouri Quail Season and My pup keep getting better

Went on my fourth quail hunt of the 2009 season. Finding a few more birds than at the beginning. I took a buddies old dog today along with my pup. The old dog was first to point a nice covey and I killed two on the covey rise. My pup found the second covey (HER FIRST WILD BIRD POINT!!) handled them like a champ and I was able to kill one of them over her. It is really fun to see the lights ...

How big were the covey's?

I don't believe our quail numbers are as bad as predicted.I haven't had a dry run yet,and all the coveys I have found have been nice big coveys.I do believe pheasant numbers are down though.
