It has only been about a month since my last visit. I think I have been 5 times this year and I cannot wait until next year to go back.....LOVING MB!!!

It is on the very south end of ocean blvd and there is not a lot to walk to around there. yes it is within a 10 minute drive from most major attractions.. i would suggest breakers. you are within walking to distance to several rest, bars, short mile to broadway at the beach. I would def try to find someplace closer to between 21st-30th ave n
Our neighbor drives there twice a month for work. After trying several routes this is what he recommends: I79 and 19 to Beckley, WV . I77 and 52 to Winston Salem. Business 40 to Kernersville then Reg.40 to Greensboro. Rt. 220 to Rockingham, then 38 and 501 into Myrtle Beach . If you're going to NMB you'll want to take 22 off of 501. Hope this helps. We'll be going on Sept. 10......
I'm typing this from Bdwy Plantation now. Been here almost a week now. Beautiful resort, Wi-Fi is just ok.
First day or so it was horrible, couldn't find a strong signal. Finally got a pretty decent signal but speed is so-so. Its ok for casual browsing and e-mail, wouldn't be very dependable for biz use.
I show anywhere from 4-8 access points active when I click on...
If you're anywhere near the South end, check out Captain Dicks in Murrells Inlet. You can jet ski in the inlet, or it's a short run out thru the jetties to the ocean. http://www.captdicks.com/rental.htm
We have stayed there several times and have always had a pleasant experience. We stayed in the "Lodge Area" during the summer months which was cheaper than staying ocean front. The only draw back was having to walk down to the beach but the money we saved more than made up for it. It's not a bad walk at all.
Like above posters I usually recommend north or south of the "central or downtown" area for children, but may have to give that serious reconsideration after this year. The new Boardwalk Area is supposed to be up and running fairly early in 2010. The city has big plans for that development to draw more family interest. I am looking forward to our spring trip to see just how much has been accomplished. We personally prefer...
Using Google Street View mapping you can walk up and down that section of Ocean Blvd and see every business. The oceanfront hotels from 2nd Ave N to 14th Ave N in order from the south are: Windsurfer, Admiral Inn, Coral Manor, Sea Gypsy, Holiday Sands North, Emerald Shores, Bay View Resort, The Diplomat, Chesterfield Inn, Golden Villa, Holiday Inn At The Pavilion, Blue Bay , Tides Inn & Suites and Yachtsman. http://maps.google.com/ To...
Daddio makes a good point about assigning condos. The only time we've used an agency was for a specific unit but I remember the agreement stated they reserved the right to change accomodations. Luckily, we got what we reserved. I wonder if confirming the day before arrival would help make sure you get what you reserved? I hate wasting precious vacation time (after 10-11 hrs in a car) arguing at the check-in desk. We've done that...
If you go to www.vrbo.com you can find a lot of condo's that allow pets. (look for the paw print symbol) You might need to call them to find out if they have limits on size though. vrbo is a very good...and reliable... site...for finding condo's. I have used them twice...two different condo's...with great results. Good luck!
I have stayed in that area a few years ago during spring break. The worst thing was traffic esp at nite because all the kids riding up and down the blvd. It was very hard to get onto the blvd and the wait was horrible. I would still stay at Landmark and that may not be as bad. Have fun.
