Thread: Milt Sparks IWB holsters

Started 1 month, 3 weeks ago by BoulderTroll
Which Milt Sparks IWB holster sets the gun the lowest in your pants? From looking at the photos of the straps, it appears like the Heritage #1 does, but I'm not sure. I'm after a smooth side out leather IWB holster and I know what great quality Sparks are (I have a 55BN). I know everyone raves about the VM II but for my thin width I think it might be a bit too wide for me, front to back....

My waist is 34 and I have a EX, WS-1, SS-II and VM-2. I like to wear my belt about 1" loose and find that the VM-2 keeps the gun just a bit closer to my body. The VM-2 is flatter and wraps around the body better. Of the holsters mentioned the VM-2 is molded more to the outer pouch (my example is about 60/40, the others are more 50/50). They all hold the gun giver or take to the same depth.

The first part of the "questions" page at the Milt Sparks website has some good information about the differences between their IWB models.

Thanks for the feedback bluetooth! And Retired, thanks for the tip about going to the "questions" section on their site. After reading through it I'm even more sure that my decision will be between the Executive and the #1H. I really like that the #1H has smooth leather inside and out.. On the other hand I like the slightly wider footprint of the Executive. Hmmmm.

The VM2 with the kydex clips rides SUPER low.

Call the nice folks at Sparks and they'll be able to answer your questions.

Big Red; I noticed your posts regarding Milt Sparks holsters (nice stuff, bytheway). Are you familiar with Craig @ Lightning Arms Sports (503/643-8198). They stock alot of MS stuff, charge afew $$ more, but NO wait. Good luck...

Yes, you do have to hit them just at the right time. I've purchased alot from them for the 1911 but it has been a couple of years ago.

I bought a VM2 for a Sig 228 from Lightning and they were very pleasant to deal with. They did have it in stock when I called also. Perhaps I was lucky. This was about four years ago though. Have MS holsters become better known during the last few years? I thought they were already well known for at least several years or more.

I agree, they are very nice folks to speak with but I've never had them have anything in stock from MS when I called. Maybe it's...

It's true that they've been well known and at the top of the field for decades, but what's happened is that there's now a lot more people looking for concealed carry holsters than before, and of course the internet makes it very easy to spread information and happy customers love to sing the praises of their favorite providers. When I ordered some holsters from Sparks in 2006, they were quoting 12-16 weeks, as I recall....

You can also email Allan Yoast Firearms from the link on the Milt Sparks Ordering page. I ordered a VM-2 black horsehide from him, in-stock, $140 shipped.
