From these recent forum posts I'm getting the idea that Microsoft is a control freak. It's probably true.

Wii + Softmod = FTW  Really though, some of the Wii Modchips are intense, like the one (Wiikey?) that you can stream ISOs from your PC to your Wii and it emulates a disk drive, and makes it think it is the disk drive, thus it seems to be without modification.
